I was born October 16 in Long Beach, California. Many of my first memories involve time spent at sea. My father was an avid sailor and I have many fond memories of sailing throughout the waters of southern California.

In the early eighties my family moved to the small mountain community of Wrightwood and I soon learned to ski. In my teens snowboarding became very popular and I, of course, had to be part of this growing sport. Many of my best friends and people I still keep in contact with I met through snowboarding.

After high school I moved to Long Beach and attended college at California State University Long Beach. I had always excelled in math so I majored in Mechanical Engineering.

After college I worked at Snow Valley as the Lift Maintenance Manager for several years. During this time I transfered the hand written log books into an online computer database.

In the late 90’s I approached Active Ride Shop with a proposal to start an online e-commerce store. At the time e-commerce was still a relatively new concept and had yet to be proven as a business model. The owners were a bit skeptical. However, after development of the relationship the owners became convinced that e-commerce and direct marketing would be a great addition to Active.
www.activemailorder.com and later www.activerideshop.com were born.

From 2001-2007 Active experienced tremendous growth not only in direct sales but also retail locations as well. During this rapid growth we implemented Microsoft RMS point of sale at the retail stores and we used Dydacomp’s Mail Order Manager and a custom web front end that accessed inventory and customer data via web services. At the time (2001-2002) real time inventory with MOM using a third part web platform was quite rare.

In 2007 we at Active, after careful evaluation of many different solutions, made the decision to move forward with Microsoft Dynamics AX. We chose to work with Junction Solutions as our VAR due in part to their focus on multi channel retail and their understanding of the goals we wanted to realize. Our goal was to seamlessly connect every sales channel into one database. One item record for all channels, one customer record, and inventory visibility from one central location. Microsoft Dynamics AX and Sharepoint allowed us to realize these goals.

In 2008 I left Active and started 2010 enterprises. We are a small shop focused on specific solutions for small business looking to increase sales revenues and streamline operations.
